Fabric Bag in Progress

Ever since I discovered that some of my leather bags give me shoulder pain, my appreciation for fabric bags grew. They are much lighter and you can choose any textile prints and style that takes your fancy. You can also wash them when they get dirty.

This one from Chiangmai is a favorite. I like the hand stitching on the surface.

It has its drawbacks. It is a bit small for everyday use. The top part exposes all my belongings. The brown lining color runs each time I wash it.

รอยสีตกตรงขอบบน dye stain on the top edge

Now I am making a bag of my own. All the pieces have been cut out. I must hand stitch the surface before assembling all the pieces. I don’t think it will finish any time soon but I am enjoying the process.
