Euretha Atelier: A Little Book

I never meant this blog to be political but I do believe that this blog could reflect something in which we deeply believe as a couple.

Michel brought this tiny book home one day after a big office clean-up. He has kept this book with him for a long time.

ฉันไม่อยากให้บล็อกนี้เป็นบล็อกการเมืองแต่ฉันเชื่อว่าบล็อกนี้ควรจะสะท้อนความคิดเบื้องลึกและความเป็นเราสองคนได้

มีอยู่วันหนึ่งมิเชลเอาหนังสือขนาดจิ๋วเล่มนี้มาไว้ที่บ้านหลังจากทำความสะอาดออฟฟิศครั้งใหญ่ หนังสือเล่มนี้อยู่เคียงข้างมิเชลมานานมาก

This book is now on our little pedestal. A bit like the democracy monument.

ตอนนี้เราเก็บไว้บนพาน คล้ายๆกับอนุสาวรีย์ประชาธิปไตย

It is a copy of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen written and proposed by the Marquis de Lafayette for the people of France in 1789. It contains the essence of the constitutions of France. Constitutions can be written and re-written by different groups of people using many colorful technical terms. However, the philosophy remains the same as always because the human needs for respect is universal.

หนังสือเล่มนี้เป็นปฏิญญาว่าด้วยสิทธิมนุษยชนและพลเมืองเรียบเรียงและยื่นเสนอเพื่อประชาชนฝรั่งเศสโดยขุนนางมาร์ควิซ เดอ ลาฟาเญทในปีค.ศ.1789 เนื้อหาด้านในเป็นแก่นแท้ของรัฐธรรมนูญหลายฉบับของประเทศฝรั่งเศสในยุคต่อๆมา รัฐธรรมนูญเป็นสิ่งที่เขียนแล้วเขียนอีกได้ ใช้ภาษาให้มีสีสันและอารมณ์อย่างไรก็ได้ โดยคนต่างกลุ่มในช่วงเวลาที่ต่างกัน แต่ปรัชญาเป็นสากลที่เน้นในเรื่องการให้เกียรติเพื่อนมนุษย์เป็นหลักการที่ยังเก็บไว้คงเดิมในรัฐธรรมนูญทุกฉบับ ไม่เคยหลุดหายไป

All the ideals for the greater good of mankind can be contained in such a small book. If the world could read this book and put it into action, there would be peace.

อุดมการณ์ทั้งหมดที่ควรมีให้ต่อมวลมนุษยชาติอัดแน่นอยู่ในหนังสือเล่มเล็กนี้ ถ้าทุกคนมีโอกาสได้อ่านและนำไปปฏิบัติจริงโลกนี้คงจะมีแต่สันติภาพ
