When you are in Paris, it is so easy to hop on the Metro and visit as many famous places as you possibly could. The efficiency of the public transport makes all this possible. After a few days of doing this, you are so exhausted and all you wish to do is to stay in bed all day.
May be this is another way of seeing Paris- If you have an afternoon to spare.
Here is what I did last September. I had with me a guide book which I never left home without- The Eyewitness Travel: PARIS. I opened page 272 and followed the 90 Minute Walk in Butte-aux-Cailles. This bohemian place was conveniently in the neighborhood where we stayed.
The trip ended up being more than 90 minutes because I stopped to look at things and I took some tea break. It was an amazingly peaceful walk in the city that is always buzzing. It was worth all the walk that I made.
Here is what I saw.
