We need to make some curtains, fix the garden and paint some furniture.
I always thought that the idea of home improvement is a way to happiness. Back in the 80’s in Australia, we had a Wednesday TV program called Wednesday Night at the Movies. They had all the old movies which I am sure led me to choose fashion as a way to earn a living. It was like seeing a big pictorial archive of cinematic costumes. You could get so carried away by all the gowns and those fashion icons.
Since we are talking about home, my highlight today is the Doris Day movie called Calamity Jane. It is a musical which has lovely costumes but it also has this part (in the first 4 minutes),where there is a lot of home transformation. It made quite an impression in my youth- the fact that everything could be done given time, effort and good humor.

ฉันคิดอยู่เสมอว่าการปรับบ้านให้ดีขึ้นนั้นเป็นหนทางสู่ความสุข ย้อนกลับไปที่ยุค 80 สมันวัยทีนอยู่ที่ประเทศออสเตรเลียมีรายการทีวีทุกวันพุธชื่อรายการหนังดีวันพุธ ฉายหนังเก่าวินเทจซึ่งมีผลทำให้ฉันยึดอาชีพแฟชั่นในเวลาต่อมา รายการนี้เป็นเหมือนแหล่งรวบรวมข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับเครื่องแต่งกายในภาพยนต์ ได้ดูทั้งชุดทั้งแฟชั่นไอคอนกันเพลินเลย
เมื่อเรากำลังคุยกันเรื่องบ้านอยู่ก็ขอจูนกลับมาที่หนังเรื่องคาลามิตีเจน นำแสดงโดยดอริส เดย์ เป็นหนังเพลงมีคอสตูมสวย แล้วก็มีตอนนี้ด้วย (ลองดูประมาณนาทีแรกถึงนาทีที่สี่น๊ะค๊ะ) จะเป็นภาพการปรับปรุงบ้าน จำได้ว่าประทับใจซีนนี้มากๆ เหมือนกับว่าทุกอย่างเป็นไปได้ถ้าเราให้เวลา แรงกาย และร่าเริงกับการทำ
