Hippie Happy : Sasiko Kaan

What does a stylist wear when she goes on holidays? Happy clothes according to Sasiko Kaan. She mixes everything from Siam Square, Jatuchak Market, goodwill stores, flea markets and do-it-yourself fashion. Weary of standardized clothes, her personal style is eclectic- bohemian, romantic, vintage and Japanese sweetness with hand-made details. Sasiko really knows what suits her. Every time I see her in her facebook page, I feel like making an effort to dress-up again.

She is the Goddess of the New Romantics of the late 70’s with her impossibly high voice and distinctive tunes. She danced as though she was in a trance. I love her commitment to her art and her devil-may-care attitude. As a fashion student, I followed her career right up until the early 90’s. There was nobody quite like her; those erotic fluid body-skimming maxi dresses, the long frizzy Sonya Rykiel curls, ash pale face, smoky eyes and red lips. She is the originator of post Punk Glam Goth.
